With powdery mildew affecting his usual source for Chardonnay from Takaki Okada's Folium vineyard, Mike Paterson instead sourced his fruit from the Brawn vineyard in the Wairau Valley. A great decision. It's rich, concentrated and shows supremely ripe fruit, accentuating the nectarine, apple and nutty characters, as well as a small spicy note. Lees ageing
